The hue is so very often overlooked as being plain or boring, but in my opinion it is the perfect backdrop to allow bright colors, textiles, textures, accessories and art to take center stage. This Texas bungalow is a perfect example of the magic of white walls, which can be found throughout the entire home. The overall result is feminine, sophisticated, layered, vibrant and certainly far from boring!

When I design a room, paint is almost always one of the last pieces of the puzzle, as it’s all of these other items that dictate the color scheme. What’s your preference when it comes to paint? Do you prefer bright-colored walls, or more muted tones?

  1. These are so far from boring…they are warm and inviting!! I always dress the walls first, either with paint or wallpaper, then go for there!! I like the idea of using white on the walls, no competition for everything else!!
