A handful of new e-decor projects and one new onsite design project kept me on my toes this week in the best way! The aspect I love most about interior design, is how each client’s personality truly effects and shines through in the outcome! Two people could come to me requesting the exact same type of space, but through getting to know them better and the little quirks that make their personality, those two rooms would never end up looking the same. Through getting to know my clients on such a personal level, I’ve been privileged to regard the majority of my them as good friends long after the job is completed!

This 550 sq. ft. West Hollywood courtyard apartment, belonging to famed textile designer Peter Dunham, doesn’t quietly nod to the designer’s personality – it screams it! From the Bukara upholstered walls, to the infamous Fig leaf pattern eat-in buffet, to the tv stand playing double duty as a bar, to the light pink walls – that let’s be honest most men could not pull off; the tiny apartment holds a complete menagerie of wild and foreign textiles, art and objects that truly speaks to the designer’s tastes.

Dunham states in the HB article: “Unless you’re really rich, you don’t get to do exactly what you want in an enormous house” – a notion that is beyond wise! It’s actually more difficult to design a few sq. ft. of impeccably executed space – larger rooms encounter budget limitations must faster, and their size leaves a little bit more wiggle room for error! I’d personally take this tiny apartment over a palatial McMansion any day of the week!
