Liz-Caan-via-DiCorcia-Interior-Design-NY-NJAccording to the WSJ, chintz is back. To be perfectly honest, I never really thought it was “out”. My grandmother is the classiest and most stylish lady I know, and a chintz sofa has always reined supreme in her living room. I think the pattern may have gotten a bad rap in the 80’s when more was more, and pastel chintz on chintz was done just down right wrong. I prefer a more chinoiserie-chintz pattern paired with a modern motif, like a chevron fabric or leopard print rug.

So what’s your opinion? Most people seem to either love or hate the pattern!

  1. Love, love, love! And grandmothers seriously have some of the best taste! My grandma was using dragon print way before the Chiang Mai pattern became popular 😉
