Terrain-Fall-Buffet-Table-Setting-via-DiCorcia-Interior-Design-NY-NJI absolutely love decorating for the holidays! With that said, decorating for Halloween quickly followed by Thanksgiving, and then Christmas a few weeks after is way too rushed for me! It’s a timely task and I like to relish in the spirit of it, without scrambling on to the next set. So in lieu of the typical Halloween decor, I opt for a few tasteful Fall-inspired accents. I’m aiming to have them up by the beginning of October, and they’ll stay in place through Thanksgiving. Then come Black Friday weekend, I’ll start incorporating in my favorite Christmas trimmings.

Terrain has been a constant source of inspiration for me all Spring and Summer with my garden, and their Fall-inspired decor does not disappoint! I’m not sure why they don’t have a catalog, as these set designs are absolutely gorgeous!

  1. when the boys were little, i did the whole halloween thing, hard core. now i do “fall” in a tasteful, more mature way. the house is decorated for fall (i always start early) so i can enjoy it for longer. these decorations will stay out right till thanksgiving. i try to get all my christmas decorations out the following weekend, but i always fall short!!

as i am getting older, i try to use more natural, live elements, that don’t have to be store year to year. it’s gives a real wow factor, great scents in the house and then a toss-a-roo!!

  2. Autumn is such a beautiful season for decorating. I love that these aren’t overtly fall-like pics. Everything’s so dusty and earthy, just like fall ought to be!
