One of my friends posted the Street Stone Series on Facebook the other day and I just couldn’t resist sharing! French photographer Léo Caillard teamed up with graphic designer Alexis Persani to give a few of the Louvre’s classical sculptures a little makeover – à la hipster style! Caillard initially photographed the masterpieces in the nude, followed up by a second shoot with model-friends sporting thrift store duds. Persani then superimposed the two, creating this amazing exhibit.
At first glance the photos looked so real, I just couldn’t figure out how they got the clothing on the sculptures (were they sewn?) and was even more flabbergasted that the overly conservative (read: snooty) Louvre gave them permission to do so!
