Look For Less • Fresh Blooms

This past weekend I picked these hydrangea from my garden to place on the coffee table in our living room. Much to my dismay, it looks like they may be the last of the season with nighttime temps dropping into the 20°’s; so farm stand and supermarket bunches will have to take their place over the next few months.

However, one bunch usually only accommodates having flowers in one room, and ideally I would love to have arrangements in every room of our home (which is sadly not in my budget)! I do dry a few bunches of hydrangea and eucalyptus, which turn beautiful shades of pastel, but sometimes I want a big burst of color (surprise, surprise!).

BLOG_Tory_ToryOnHome_1021-Home-Collection_480_slide7When I saw Tory Burch’s new home collection, I was instantly smitten with the image above! Sure the inlaid bone box is beautiful, but the paper flowers is what really grabbed my attention. A simple, affordable, long-lasting arrangement – way more chic than you’re local craft store variety!

Affordable Art • Teil Duncan

Teil-Duncan-Tenth-At-Folly-Beach-Print-via-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignOne of my favorite things about the blogosphere is the communal sharing of information. I know this sounds kinda corny, but it’s like having a huge group of girlfriends to chat with over coffee every morning. Artist Teil Duncan’s beach series has been on my radar for quite some time – adore her impressionistic strokes and use of color – so I was thrilled to learn via her tumbler feed she’s now offering 3 prints through August for only $50 each!

Teil-Duncan-Beach-Talk-Print-via-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignI immediately added this beauty to my cart for project “Disguise the TV” – which I’ve totally been slacking on!

A room with a view

Garden-Sunroom-via-Dicorcia-Interior-DesignOne day I’d love to have a garden room lined with windows and full of natural light, where I can sip my morning espresso, admire my flowers and watch the birds frolic in the yard. I came across this room on Pinterest a few days ago and was instantly smitten with the gorgeous space. The latticework adds wonderful dimension and detail to the room without being overly cumbersome, and the square tile cleverly mirrors the diamond pattern on the wall. The furniture selection is spot on including items that could easily be transported outdoors to accommodate additional visitors, and indoor/outdoor lantern perfectly compliments the transitional space.

Garden-Sunroom-Porch-For-Less-via-Dicorcia-Interior-DesignStyle At Home also featured a second rendition of the same room with a more affordable price tag – check it out here.

Homegoods Finds

Homegoods is one of my favorite stores to shop for affordable accessories. Unfortunately, it’s either filled with lovely gems at price tags that makes your adrenaline pump with joy, or an abundance of dusty metal chickens (read this story, it’s hilarious!). But lately my local Homegoods stores (yes, I have 3 within 25 minutes of my house and consider myself truly blessed!) have had some great finds!

The-Bungalow-Backyard-Homegoods-Planters-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignFirst up – these lovely planters ranging in price from $5-$30 each. Love how they look outside on our deck!

Homegoods-Geometric-Flokati-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignPicked these HUGE geometric and flokati rugs for under $300 each!

The-Bungalow-Homegoods-Mirrors-Client-Mirror-Geometric-Basket-Brighten-Up-A-Dark-Space-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignThis art deco mirror was a huge score on clearance for under $60, it’s almost identical to Anthropologie’s Abate Slated Mirror. I hung it on a dark wall in The Bungalow opposite from a window and door, and it instantly added light and depth to the space – love this trick! I have a second one that I’m debating on returning or hanging somewhere else in the house. Opposite the mirror I placed this awesome $7 geometric basket serving to house my rubber plant, which is very nicely concealing an old electrical panel! I couldn’t pass up on this sunburst mirror for a client project – Serena & Lily’s Metal Starburst Mirror was in the initial design plans, but Homegoods version was 1/6 of the price and equally as fabulous!

Homegoods-Beach-House-Tray-Union-Jack-Pillow-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignGave my mom this tray for Mothers Day and it looks great styled on the Rebecca trunk in The Beach House! Kicking myself for not including the Union Jack pillow in my cart at checkout (hopefully they still have it tomorrow!).

Homegoods-Leather-Club-Chair-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignLastly, I picked up this club chair for a bachelor pad I’m working on – love the buckle detail on the back!

Do you shop in Homegoods often? Have you picked up anything lately?

Currently Coveting – White Eyelet

Summer-White-Eyelet-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignI adore sporting gauzy white cotton dresses in the Summer months, but by the end of the season damn deodorant stains have left them seeing better days. I usually dye my white garments to keep them in rotation for the following year, but spending a decent amount of cash knowing this process will inevitably happen still agitates me. I recently stumbled upon this great dress and at $34.94 (plus Old Navy coupons that are almost always available!) it was a no brainer! The picture really doesn’t do it justice – the top is pretty little Swiss-dots and to bottom has lovely white eyelet that skims the floor. It’s fully lined and the fit is pretty perfect!

Old Navy Strapless Eyelet Maxi Dress $34.95 // Juicy Couture Palm Print Scarf $58 // Loren Hope Malachite Sunburst Studs $36 // Calypso Selmi Leather Bracelet $65 // Calypso Yellow Brown Kiss Kiss Bracelet $25 // Calypso Jade Bead Bracelet $95 // Madewell Drawstring Bucket Bag $148 // Target Sam & Libby Double Strap Lime Sandal $22.99

PURSUITS

Wallet-Friendly-High-Style-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignFrom interiors to fashion – mixing a few luxurious “investment” items with more affordable options strikes a nice balance in a room and an ensemble. Nothing thrills me more than to accessorize a custom sofa with a set of pillows from Ikea, or pair my Miu Miu sandals with a skirt from Forever 21. These are the items that I’ve recently been shopping with high style and great price tags.

TARGET:
On one of my “in-and-out” runs to target for laundry detergent I emerged two hours later with a full cart, including two of these umbrellas (on sale for $79 in stores). In addition to being obsessed with the ikat print, the wooden pole makes them look high-end. The Bungalow backyard plans will have to be adjusted a bit, but so worth it! I also found this Mara Hoffman-esque beach bag ($34.99) and gorgeous light blue shagreen shade ($19.99) for a steel!

OLD NAVY:
I learned about this children’s dress (on sale for $8 in stores) through The Glitter Guide and went to check it out this weekend. The XL fit me perfectly and will make for a great coverup or throw-on dress this summer. I also picked up this tunic ($26.94), which looks very similar to a much more expensive version. Now all I need is for the weather to warm up!  *Save an additional 20% with code ONSAVE20 through 5/6!

IKEA:
This pillow ($10) looks very Madeline Weinrib-ish, sans the three digit price tag, and my local Ikea finally has them back in stock! I picked up a few for a client project along with this Saarinen inspired tulip table ($199) and a box of these taper candles ($3.99). I am not usually a fan of colored wax but made an exception when I saw this perfect shade of turquoise – they look great in brass holders!

ANTHROPOLOGIE:
These festive foil dot napkins ($4.95) have been on my wish list for some time and when I found them majorly marked-down I couldn’t resist! I’ve blogged about these planters ($10) before and sill can’t get over what a great deal they are – I picked up my third one this weekend!

FOREVER 21:
I learned about this Forever 21 skirt ($22.80) through Chassity’s blog and went on the hunt to track it down – girl has a great eye, I’m very pleased with my purchase! I also picked up this neon nail polish ($2.80) which has actually held up pretty well. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it brightens up my day!

How was your weekend? Found any great deals lately? Would love to hear about them!!!
