On Rotation

.Best-Nail-Polish-Colors-via-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignAlways polished, always in search of a new color – my name is Christine and I am a manicure junkie! Once in a blue I’ll splurge $8 on a professional polish, but truth be told I actually like doing them myself. It’s a little beauty ritual I partake in twice weekly  (mainly due to my nail polish ADD) and find it incredibly relaxing. I have the process down to a science – a non-smelly fast reacting remover, base coat, polish and long-lasting fast-drying top coat that allows me to be on the go in less than 25 minutes. Moderately priced and good quality, OPI and Essie are my go-to brands of choice, although I do have the occasional splurge here and there. I’m rather particular about color, shying away from anything sparkly with the exception of metallic shades. These are the polishes currently on my rotation.

From top, moving clockwise: Essie Sand Tropez // Essie Chinchilly // Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me // OPI Curry Up Don’t Be Late // OPI Bubble Bath // Essie Tart Deco // Essie Cute As A Button // OPI My Chihuahua Bites //  Essie Peach Daiquiri // Essie Tangerine // Essie Geranium // OPI Big Apple Red // OPI Miami Beet // Essie Turquoise & Caicos // OPI Jade Is The New Black // OPI I Saw, You Saw, We Saw, Warsaw // OPI You Don’t Know Jacques // Essie Wicked

Have a great weekend! Any fun plans?

NAVY-ORANGE-DiCorcia-Interior-DesignI picked up this navy striped tank at the J.Crew outlet this weekend and have been wearing it non-stop (btw – I finally had the chance to try on this skirt that I mentioned here and it was just ok, the No. 2 has much better fabric retention)! Right now I’m pairing it with distressed denim (on sale!) and my go-to schoolboy blazer for an edgy meets preppy look, but I can’t wait to pair stripes-on-stripes with this skirt I mentioned last week when the weather warms up a bit more! I also finally found the perfect navy nail polish this weekend after a year of searching – not too dark that it looks like black and no sparkle/shimmer. I’ve talked about my love of navy before, and as you can see from the design of my site I love pairing the hue with pink, but lately I’ve had a particular fondness for combining it with shades of orange. This stack of Loren Hope bracelets (1,2,3), DVF pom-pom scarf  and Zara pumps would live together in my closet happily ever after! A leopard clutch and tortoise glasses give off just a slight shade of orange to complete the look without appearing too match-matchy.
