Christmas week was a complete blur of food & wine {the best kind!} accompanied by lots of parties, presents, dinners, brunches and laughs with family & friends. Right after the holiday we headed south for our annual family vacation in Aruba, where I started every morning with Zumba or hitting up the gym {working off all my holiday indulgences, ha!}.  This sexy open back tank and these compression crops turned out to be one of my best pre-vacation purchases – isn’t it funny how some cute gear can make such a huge difference?!

My family’s a pretty active bunch, so snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking and daily walks on the beach usually take up the majority of our afternoons. L*Space bikinis are one of my favorite brands for their chic/sexy cut paired with their comfy/sturdy fit {allowing me to successfully partake in all of the above activities!}, so I was super excited to find a bunch of them on major sale via 6PM before I left. I also picked up this coverup, which I was super obsessed with – will definitely be wearing it as a top with skinny jeans once it warms up a bit in NJ! I read a couple of books, but The Summer We Read Gatsby was by far the perfect beach read! Of course it wouldn’t be vacation without some fantastic meals out and this breezy Ramy Brook dress {on major sale!} ended up being ideal for the laid back island vibe {you can check out an updated list of my favorite restaurants here}.

I must admit, unplugging for a bit was just what I needed, I feel refreshed, inspired and ready to get started on a few new exciting projects! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday, I’m so looking forward to catching up!

Aruba 2014

We headed south for our annual family vacation in Aruba – and I must admit, unplugging for a bit was just what I needed! I feel refreshed, inspired and ready to get started on a few new exciting projects!

I kept up with my New Years resolution, which started with hitting the gym every morning – I’m completely obsessed with this tank and these crops (isn’t it funny how some cute gear can make such a huge difference?!). My family’s a pretty active bunch, so snorkeling, paddle boarding. kayaking and daily walks on the beach took up the majority of our afternoons. These bandeau bikini tops turned out to be one of my best pre-vacation purchases – no unwanted tan lines, they fit like a glove and are only $18! I read a couple of books, but The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was by far my favorite! Of course it wouldn’t be vacation without some fantastic meals out and this breezy dress ended up being ideal for the laid back island vibe (you can check out a list of my favorite restaurants here).

PACKING LIST • ARUBA

I’m really excited to be heading to Aruba in a few days for our annual family vaca! With that said, I’m the absolute worst packer! I always leave things to the last minute, end up packing WAY too much, and forget the most elementary of items (like quality razor blades – which are surprisingly hard to find in a foreign country!). So this year I started making my list early, and thus far am pretty happy with the outcome – but let’s see if I can actually execute it! Aruba is super relaxed, so a few breezy dresses, wear with everything flats, bikinis and chic gold bangles is really all I need!

I just downloaded The Signature of All Things, but need a few more books- would love to hear your suggestions!
