Last week my friend Hannah did a great post where she touched upon building a collection instead of just simply collecting cloths. In a world where you can buy almost anything online, I think it’s really easy to get caught up in shopping for the sake of having something new. I really enjoy my weekly outfit posts (hope you guys do as well!) as they allow me to shop vicariously -sort of like an imaginary shopping spree – without doing any serious damage. Sure I pick up a few items I post about here and there, but financial security is really important to me, and those purchases are few and far between. This season I want to change my focus towards more classic investment pieces. It’s how I shop for interiors, and I’m not sure why I haven’t followed the method more closely when it comes to my closet!
1- Vince Cowl Neck Sweater $239 // 2- Lafayette Funnel Neck Sweater $164.25 // 3- Vince Colorblock Coat $750 // 4- Dannijo Etta Necklace $375 // 5- Clare Vivier Leopard Foldover Clutch $210 // 6- Sandro Eponyme Silk Blouse $195 (the back is equally as pretty!) // 7- Gucci Pattern Shawl w/ Fur $695 // 8- Jeffrey Campbell Rosemore Zip Booties $200 // 9- Annabell Ingall Jojo Cross Body Bag $299 // 10- J.Crew Skinny Utility Chino $89.50 // 11- J Brand 8112 Rail Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans $218 // 12- Sandro Respect Dress $263 // 13- Juliet & Company Oversized Pearl Studs $21 // 14- Sam Edelman Opal Nude Pumps $77.99
Clearly, I won’t be purchasing all of these items, but think it will help deter adding that hot pink coat I really don’t need to my cart! Are there any classic investment pieces you’ve purchased that get used all the time? I use my Meli Melo bag almost everyday! They don’t have to be expensive, those pearl studs are $21, but assuming they are well made I can see them getting so much use!
