The BBQ was a hit!. I had so much fun (and sangria) I barely took any pictures – worst blogger ever! Fortunately, I did remember to capture the food. For apps I made ricotta cheese with grilled Italian bread, bruschetta and tapenade.
Dinner included pulled pork from Jersey Shore BBQ, corn bread, macaroni and cheese, corn dogs (from here) with honey mustard sauce, spicy corn and feta salad (remind me to do a recipe post on this – so good!) and kale slaw with poppy seed dressing. Catering out the protein to professionals made the food so much easier (nobody got stuck on the grill all day), but still allowed me to do my thing with cooking.
I picked up the pig chalk board from Homegoods (similar here) and gingham tablecloth from here. They were so inexpensive and totally set the scene for our Southern-style BBQ! I propped up the food on old wine crates to add a little height and dimension to the table. The weather could not have been more perfect and I think a good time was had by all!
